It's A New Year

We love Christmas. All sparkling, beautiful, cozy. Celebrating our Greatest Gift, our Saviour. Gathering with family and friends. Slowing down, spending time together.

I was on the fence. Take down the decorations? Leave them up a little longer? Take down? Leave up? Down? Up?

I was taking Chickie back to school on Tuesday, so I thought I'd get it out of the way today. So I did.
We went from this:

to this.

From this: (with Bubba aka Mo looking on)

to this. (Hunny chasing a stinkbug in the background. He is NOT allowed there.)

And from this:

to this.

Then I found out. Chickie got another ride back to school. I am disappointed not to have the time with her. And yet......a free day. What to do? I'm sure I'll think of something I'll really enjoy!

Come with me to visit Cielo's party as well as Susan's party today!

I certainly enjoyed all your lovely Christmas decorations. Decorated or not, your home is so cozy and pretty! I love seeing the kitties. Don't they make a house a home?

Your house is adorable. We take down almost all of our Christmas decorations on New Year's Day, but leave the tree up thought Twelfth Night (Jan. 6).

Happy New Year!

Love your kitchen....I have a black and white floor to, it seems if the black isn't dirty the the white is and vice versa!

My tree is down too but not everything is back in it's place yet!

Yes, we've cleaned out most of our decorations today. Need to put the tree away, but we're sorting ornaments as we pack. Your home is lovely!

Happy New Year!

As much as I love Christmas decorations, doesn't it feel great to get them down and have a clean slate?

Mine don't go back to school for another full week. Wooohooo!

I love your kitchen floor, Carol! I want one of those in my next house! My plan was to put the Christmas decor away this weekend, but granddaughter plans popped up and I took advantage of that. I figure I'll do a little bit each evening after work and I should have it done in no time. Plus it won't feel so overwhelming that I start just throwing things in the bin!

Oh the possibilities!

Yes I am in the process of taking my decorations down, they are usually away by now, but I have been procrastinating a bit!

Well, Carol, I am glad someone is busy today, as I haven't even started yet. Not that I didn't want to, my plans were to have all decorations down and packed away by Jan. 1, but it seems my sinuses and vertigo had other plans. So with my head held straight I am trying to catch up on blogging, and wishing I could be doing what I see everyone doing.
Your home is beautiful, and that kitchen is mine all mine!!
Praying God's continued blessings for you and your family this new year.
Hugs, Sue

I love your decorations. My poor, much loved decorations didn't make an appearance this year, but I am still thinking of celebrating in a few weeks. I know, sounds crazy, but I missed Christmas!

As to the picture on my blog, that lovely lady is my friend Claudie. I don't put pictures of myself on my blog. I hate to have my picture made. ;-)

XO,

Sheila

I love your home. Full of character. We have a Sear's Home Kit home in our town too. They did an article on it in the paper. They are wonderful old homes. Your tree was beautiful. Amazing how much space is there when you put it away. Our room seems so much bigger now.

I did take down today, but the putting back will have to wait.

Okay, can't believe you really have a Sears kit home! How fortunate!!! Looks marvelous, too.

I need to take the rest of my decorations down. I have lots of things stacked up and ready to be packed away, but I haven't touched the tree yet. Sorry you missed the extra time with your daughter, but I'm glad you had a wonderful Christmas! Happy New Year!

Oh I had to come back and comment about one of your comments else where where you said your hubby says the next decade is okay!!! Too funny! My husband is almost 7 years older than I, so he has been there for 7 years...he has survived, so will I...besides we are still raising a little one! We got to stay young :)
You just made me laugh and I had to come back and comment.
