Relaxing and Blooming

Sitting out on a porch in the summertime is a favorite pastime.  This porch is on the second floor, off the master bedroom.
You may remember seeing the railings draped with drying tee shirts last week when the power was out and the washing machine was locked shut for a day or so.

But now we can enjoy the porch for its intended purpose.  You can have my seat, over by the geraniums.

Look how comfy it is!

Here is your view.  Lots of green!  Speaking of green, let's check out what's blooming now.

I was delighted to see the first daylily this weekend!  Daylilies are great because they can be divided and transplanted year after year.  And the plants don't die out after a few years!

Spiderwort is another of my favorites.  Another perennial that takes to dividing and transplanting.  And if I cut the spent blooms, I can get it to bloom multiple times in a single season.

The hydrangeas are coming along nicely.  Don't they look wonderful against the front porch column?

Rabbits don't eat begonias.  So they are perfect for my house!

But they do eat Black-eyed Susans.....so I grow the ones I have left in a pot.

Have a terrific day and please join Cielo for Show off Your Cottage Monday, and Jean for Bloomin' Tuesday!

Hi Carol, I can comment easily now - thx!

What a beautiful space to have off of your bedroom. I love that you are surrounded by green, leafy trees and the geraniums are beautiful. Daylilies are one of my favorites for all the reasons you list! Hope you have a very nice week and some relaxing time on the porch!

Oh thanks for the reminder about snipping back the spiderwort. I'm definitely going to do that and see if I get more than one blooming. Your porch looks very pleasant. Do you ever enjoy coffee out there in the morning?

Your porch is far more inviting wearing deck chairs and geraniums than it is wearing your husbands tee- shirts. Then again I'll bet your husband looks much more presentable in the tee-shirts!

How lovely to have a deck off of your bedroom. Especially when it is surrounded by blooming beauty.

Blessings, Debbie

Your porch is lovely and the plants are gorgeous! I have some of the Spiderwort, I did not know that was the name of it, though. Your container garden with the Black-Eyed Susans is particularly pretty.

that is a pretty color of Spiderwort. I have some hot magenta Spiderwort blooming right now, but it is always closed up when I get home from work. I only get to enjoy Spiderwort on the weekends. :)

You may not want to offer me your chair as I may never leave :).
The chair itself is so pretty and the deck looks so inviting. You must really enjoy it and your flowers are all looking so pretty and healthy.
