Beauty in Nature

When I witness the beauty in nature, it speaks to me of God's extravagant love for us. I took this picture when we were on vacation at Pretty Byrd Cottage, (http://oursearskithome.blogspot.com/search/label/Pretty%20Byrd%20Cottage)  a cottage on an island, in a pond, on a farm, in Harborton, Virginia.

When I sighted this beautiful butterfly on a peaceful sunny afternoon, my soul worshiped my Creator, and I was filled with joy.

Some of the greatest beauty anywhere is provided by nature and the man above.

It has been very hot along the Texas Gulf Coast and we have had hardly any rain. I wonder if that is why I have not seen many butterflies this year. Last year at this time I was in butterfly heaven. I so enjoyed looking at yours.

Dottie

Carol,
I am always in awe of God's bounty. Lovely butterfly - I haven't seen too many around my home this year, I think, because of the hot, dry weather we've had.

That is an absolutely gorgeous picture. It is so hot and dusty here, nothing blooms or flits around during the day - not even the birds. Hope your day is great. Tammy

It is beautiful all on its own. What makes it even MORE so to me is that it inspired you to worship the God who took the time to create it. Worship is really the ultimate simple pleasure, isn't it?

Your pictures are gorgeous! I got so caught up looking at the island cottage and your lovely home and the story behind it, that I nearly missed enjoying the butterfly. All very lovely. And yes, God speaks through His creation in so many ways, seeking our undivided worship. Joyce

Oh yes, dear lady, the world around us speaks of God's great power and His astounding imagination and love for beauty. I'm so glad that He made us in His image. I wonder if we could appreciate such beauty if we did not have a bit of our creator's love for beauty in us!
Love and hugs, Cindy

Love it! I could park it by a butterfly bush all day and watch them. I think they are the perfect example of God's artwork - it reminds me of Romans 1:20:

For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

How can anyone witnessing the jaunts of a butterfly deny the Creator?

Carol,
I had never seen rainbow bread before and I loved it for my granddaughter's lunch. We were in Lititz, PA when we first saw it. Would love to know where to buy it (or how it is made!).
Thanks,
~Jean

Butterflies are one of God's most beautiful creatures, aren't they? It's amazing how they go from the caterpillar stage into the gorgeous butterfly stage. Truly, beauty from the unbeautiful, huh? And God can use the unbeautiful situations in our lives to make something beautiful happen. It's not always easy to remember that when we're in the midst of the ugly, though, is it?

Wishing you a wonderful day. And thanking you for your beautiful photography of God's creation.

Blessings,
Patti
