Blessed Beyond Measure

What a beautiful light the twinkle lights give! Cozy and welcoming. It fills me with the joy of the season as I walk through.

Yes, I see the little feller with another one of his bad ideas. Most of his ideas are that...bad! He is so pleased with the new feature. And don't worry...we keep special watch for safety issues!

Wishing you the joy of the season, and the blessings of each moment!

Decking the Halls

We've begun decking the halls.

In the foyer we have lots going on. The warm light from the twinkle lights is most inviting.

Here's an old cabinet door that Mister found in the garage, cleaned up and attached a multi-hook to. He painted the hook black and now we have a coat rack!

And have a splendid week!

The Gift of Solitude: A Quiet Evening

I'm home alone for dinner this evening.
So dinner was a delicious, simple and abbreviated affair. No one else would have appreciated it but me.
And there was NO cleanup. Nice.
(See the omnipresent Tony?)

Then it was off to the family room. Nope. No TV tonight! Just a glass of wine, a scented candle, my Kindle and phone and computer.
And the patina of the old chest we use as a coffee table. Or ottoman. Take your pick.

Now that's a wonderful way to spend a dreary, rainy November evening!

Hope your week is wonderful....

Our Foyer

Welcome to our foyer! The floor was painted by the previous owner. The patina of the floorboards delights me.

It welcomes me each time I pass through it. From when I first get up in the morning, with the aroma of brewing coffee wafting in from the kitchen, to when I return home from work, to when I am on my way up to bed.

It's one of many delights of living in a 102 year old Sears Kit Home.

Lovin' my dream home,

Misty Sunrise

One of the school playing fields is a block from our home.  Some mornings the mist lays heavily on it.

It has always fascinated Chickie and me.  One morning, on the way to school when she was a little girl, I pulled the car over so she could run through the mist.

"What was it like?", I asked her as she got back into the car.
"It smelled like spring rain, Mama!", she said.

A special memory.  A beautiful, mysterious, wonderful occurrence.  Created for us, by the One Who loves us.
It invokes worship, doesn't it?

Have a blessed day!
