Our Foyer

Welcome to our foyer! The floor was painted by the previous owner. The patina of the floorboards delights me.

It welcomes me each time I pass through it. From when I first get up in the morning, with the aroma of brewing coffee wafting in from the kitchen, to when I return home from work, to when I am on my way up to bed.

It's one of many delights of living in a 102 year old Sears Kit Home.

Lovin' my dream home,
Carol

I'm loving your dream home, too, Carol! I also love that black and white floor beyond. Seeing your foyer makes me want to paint mine.

Oh, girl... in answer to your question. I am so happy to report that we won't be on tour this year. After last time, Mr. Magpie made me promise him faithfully no more! We've done that one and also been on tour with this same home with the hysterical society and three tours of two other homes, so we are officially DONE. Put a fork in it DONE. LOL! We are too old to play. Old folks need to REST. ;-)

So, I am left to dilly dally and get my decorating done at my own turtle's pace, and I could not be happier. A little dirt. A little shabbiness. A few flecks of peeling paint. A dead plant or two and a couple of bare spots on the grass. No matter! I am not gonna worry until NEXT spring. That's my Christmas gift to myself and to my DH! LOL!

XO,

Sheila

It is a beautiful home and I am so glad you adore it. Our old house needs so much it has overwhelmed me.

It's a great home, and the cat in the pic makes it look all the more welcoming too:@)

A welcoming foyer is icing on the cake. Our guests spill directly into our living room and that is always interesting. I'd prefer a room where guests can enter and leisurely become acclimated to the home with a place to remove outer garments and in winter those boots!

I love it too! How blessed we are to not only have a home, but have a home we love and is beautiful.

Hi Carol

I love the painted look of your floor! I think that our Sears kit home is a lot smaller than yours.

I'd love to see more of your rooms.

It's just plain beautiful to me as is everything you share from your home. It's so much like the old home that lives in my head.

I love the black and white checkered floor and the painted foyer. My dream home to start with would have been to live in an old home, but since that could not happen I am happy to live vicariously through others. Oh and it must be sooo fun to decorate for Christmas. Have fun searching.
