Here is Chickie's bedroom. The original master. In the turret, no less!
Mister painted the walls with purple stripes 6 years ago. A beautiful labor of love.
But it was time for a change. The bedding had been changed, so there was the color inspiration.
Chickie and I went to Home Depot. We bought a gallon of paint.
Behr Ultra, self priming, in Venus Teal.
Chickie rolled. I edged.
I have painted many a room. It ALWAYS takes 2 coats.....until now.
One Coat. 1/2 gallon for the room.
Behr. Ultra. Self priming.
You always go back the next day for touch ups.
There were no touch ups to be made.
This paint does everything they advertise! Unbelievable, but true.
(We usually go with Sherwin Williams, it's Mister's preference. But I had always used Behr in the past - pre-Mister - because it was economical.)
The color is serene and peaceful......
...beautiful and rich.
So there you are. $15 (a half gallon), 2 hours, and a 20 year old (Chickie)!

It looks great...thanks for the tip on the paint because I am getting ready to do my Master...and I am not doing it in Oops paint to save money
This is lovely...your daughter will so enjoy...my daughter is 21!
What a lovely color! This is very good to know because I hate to paint and have avoided it for forever.
I am a HUGE fan of Behr paint -- and the price tag it comes with. It is amazing the difference painting can make. Great job :)
Blessings!

I am with Gail. I love Behr paint and it is on CC's walls and all over the yellow house. Love Chickie's wall color.
Wow, got the pen out and I'm writing this brand of paint down! The room looks great:@)
Chickie's room is lovely! Thx for the tip on the paint.
I'm a fan of Behr paint for many years!
Love the color!!!

Super lovely color, and good to know about the Behr paint for future reference.
Yes, the string cheese on the pizza did look like marshmallows. I thought so too!
That's just plain out beautiful to me! I love the color, and wouldn't my girls have loved to grow up a princess in the turret room.
I don't have a HD closer than an hour from here. I really want to try this paint, too. I dislike painting so one coat would be right up my alley!
Hi Carol,
The room looks beautiful..the colour is so soft and restful.
I like the idea of self priming paint.
I loved it when my son lived at home and gave a hand to do the big jobs.
Have a good week

Wow, what a great color! We always use Behr, dh prefers it over BM. I prefer any that I don't have to do!
Thanks for stopping by, Carol!
Oh it looks so pretty. Painting is one of my most dreaded chores. But it's always worth it once it's done! That's wonderful that you didn't have to do two coats. I'll have to keep that paint in mind for my next project.
Thanks for the heads up on the paint, as I will be doing a lot of painting with the mishap with the leak. I like just one coat! You and your daughter did a fantastic job, love the color, I am finding that choosing the right color is harder than painting. ~smile~
Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Sue
I use Behr paint too! Love how the room turned out!
Perfect color...
Jody
Your new color is so beautiful. I always paint twice also, but I will try Behr, if I can find it in my little town. What a timesaving and it is inexpensive too. Thanks for your kind words about my move. Joni
Blue si my favorite color, and this room looks so inviting. Now I'm going to talk hubby into some Behr paint.
Oh yes!!! Let's hear it for Behr Ultra Self Priming, that's what I used in my living room and it was a creamy white over yellow. It was ONE coat! Gotta love it.
Your chickies room is gorgeous, that's a great colour.
Hugs, Cindy
Thank you so much, dear Carol for praying for my daughter. She is doing well and I am going home this week.
Hugs, Cindy
