Note Card Party at Vee's.......February!

Thank you, Vee, for hosting every month!
So this month I chose note cards that reflect gardening, and the simple pleasure of anticipating the approaching gardening season.

Last year, I built this bed to the left of the railing and concentrated on lots of flowers in pots on the porches.
The bed holds herbs, lilies and asparagus.

After the 15 minute chore of cutting and sweeping the grass is completed each week, it feels good to survey my work.
Here's the view from the back yard.

This past year I finally got a community garden!  They are in short supply;  I was on the list for about 8 years.  Looking forward to planting, weeding, harvesting and canning this year.  I think it's going to be a big year for beans.

The sun on the front porch in the morning always raises my spirits.
How do you like the chippy old bench thing I found in the creek a few years ago?

We only submit 4 pictures for note cards.  So this is just a cheery reminder of how a $3 pot and some sweet woodruff from the yard can brighten the day.

Hope you are having a wonderful week, anticipating good things to come!
Just one more thing.....joining Fawn at Happy Wives Club.....

35.  I can trust him with my heart.
36.  He is my biggest cheerleader.
37.  He's always got my back.
38.  He loves my daughter as if she were his very own.

Oh my goodness. I do indeed love that chippy bench! You found it in the creek?! Wonderful!

Your pictures are all lovely. I just came from Barbara's at Two Birdies and a Bee where she, too, is featuring green and growing things. You girls are making me ready for spring...

(I just did another link and would delete the first (it took us to January) if Mr. Linky were cooperating. He isn't just now, but I'll keep working on it.)

It is so nice to see green and the flowers and plantings. I didn't know that you grew asparagus along with the herbs. I do like the chippy white bench very much.

It seems gardening is something a lot of us are anticipating. I love the photos you've chosen, especially the one featuring the bed beside your front porch. What a great feature.

Your house is lovely and I enjoyed the tour around of your gardens. You were very patient to wait 8 years to get a plot in a community garden. Wishing you an abundant crop!

I love that third one down with the chippy bench the best of all.

I've been thinking about the garden. My Granny never planted anything before Good Friday, but I've been enjoying seed catalogs and making my lists! Your photos (cards) have gotten in the mood to garden even more!

I really liked those last two photos! I want to gather up some old containers or tea cups this spring and plant a variety of succulents in them.

Hello, my sweet friend,
Each time I visit your beautiful blog I am taken back by your beautiful yellow home. It looks so lovely nestled in the snow.
Carol...Your garden will be such a blessing with the many vegetables available all summer long. I might attempt lettuce this year because we eat so many salads.
What a sweet note to end on as I read your post and saw the things you love about your husband. He is a blessings. It's clear to see.
Thank you for your kind comment and visit to my blog.
Smiles across the miles,
Carolynn xoxo

Love this, Carol! If only I had a green thumb like you. I think I have more like a black thumb. Maybe even a red thumb but green...sad to say...I'm not there quite yet. But I LOVE your beautiful landscaping and garden. Thanks for linking up!

Gorgeous note card photos, you have such a lovely place. I love your list for why you love your husband. Does he mentor men on how to be good husbands? He's the sort who should.
