In Which I Address my Dearth of New Posts

You know how life gets in the way, sometimes.  It's been busy!
Here is where I am just this very minute, typing away.  In the kitchen, canning squash.  Because there is a lot of it, and I LOVE to can.  Squash and green beans so far this year.

The pressure canner hearkens back to my childhood.  Harvest Gold.  My mom gave it to me a few years back.

I power washed and stained the back patio.  Will have to create a post on that sometime.

Mister and I went back to Lititz on the Fourth.  (That's a bit of Mister, there to the left.)
He thought an outing was in order.  I was tired and slept most of the way there, and when we got there, everything was mostly shut down and Mister's back went out.
Yep.  We were loads of fun that day!

Been shopping the curb.  This big carpet just needs a cleaning and new binding.  Yay!

Today, I finished re-staining the porch railings where needed.
Yesterday, I took a few hours and washed, waxed and detailed Mister's car.  Boy, was he surprised!

We went back to Mt Gretna, we've gone out for ice cream a few times too many......Mister handily repaired the front porch floor....

Oh, yeah. And there was that week when all 4 cats were vomiting and having diarrhea, and the fact that my laptop is increasingly skittish....

I could go on, but I think you get the idea.

And that's my explanation for the Dearth of Posts.

So now I feel really pathetic. I have been postless for most of the summer, and I have nothing much to show for it. Not even a puking cat. Look at all you accomplished. You even scored a curbside carpet.

Oh I have one of those golden pressure cookers...from my mom also. Oh love the rug, I got one at a garage sale a few years back and have enjoyed it.
Looks like you got in some fun in the midst of your labor...that canning sounds like fun, and your garden producing!!

True enough that you've been scarce, but any one of those would create a post all by itself. You just don't have the time because you're so busy this summer with all your many, many projects. Hope that everyone, including the cats, is feeling better. Are feeling better? No, is.

Ugh! dearth for sure.
Seeing your curbside rug...gives me hope for the rugs in my kitchen-dining!
I should get the shampooer out... did I tell you I got a new puppy!
Ugh...
the harvest gold canner...I have my Granny's it needs the 'rattler' and a new seal, so I'm afraid to use it right now.

You must tell us all about the squash and show pictures.
My garden isn't growing 'quite contrary' or otherwise. :)

Glad to hear from you. The kitchen looks fab and I LOVE the pressure cooker from your Mum.

I LOVE Lititz - I usually meet my friend there. It's halfway for both of us.

Stay cool...

Nice items to be reusing. My computer is down so posts have been slim for me too this summer. I think we can all relate.

You've been busy, as have I, life is what is real and important and sometimes we get to blog about it. And that's okay! I'm not going to be around much this summer. My grands talked me into posting their photos last week, it was my first post in a while. I have more of them that I should post, we'll see if they say anything.")
Have a good summer. Cindy

That carpet is gorgeous, what a find.

Your poor kitties! Mine has a tendency to run around the house like a wild thing when she's making that pre-throw-up honking noise cats make...probably because we're all shouting, "GET THE CAT! SHE'S GOING TO BE SICK! QUIIIIIICK!" So it's probably our fault she runs around. Hope you're kitties are better now. Was it something they ate? Or just fur-balls?

Glad to see you posting again. I'm just trying to catch up with my blogs. I think I've visited all my regular haunts now.

I really enjoy reading everyone's summer posts. :)

sorry my apostrophe/grammar policeman will not let this slide...I should have written, 'your kitties' and not 'you're kitties'.

OK I feel better now. :)
